*Sigh* Well, i had planned to go see Kerbdog at Fibbers, in Dublin this weekend, who i thought were playing on the 5th. See, Wexford's Laminate are supporting -- Derren Dempsey being friends with Cormac Battle through their other band, Wilt -- and their site said the 5th; the MySpace Kerbdog page said the 4th, but was changed to the 5th, which was a go-ahead for me to book a plane ticket to London for the poetry reading on Friday, and return the next day for Kerbdog. The date change wasn't at all suspicious to me, as the last time Kerbdog played (back in December, for which my friend, Ruth, bought me tickets -- but i couldn't go), the date was put forward. So, i go to buy tickets, and find that they are playing on the 4th, and realised that the MySpace Kerbdog page is run by a fan who must've seen the 'date change' on the Laminate site and didn't know better. (The date hasn't been corrected.)
Well, i didn't waste money on tickets; but i did buy a return flight to Dublin that cost €280, and which is now pointless since my parents are making their way back from a week in England, on Sunday, via the ferry straight to Rosslare. Throughout all this, i didn't think to check the official Kerbdog site 'cause i knew it was just a forum; but i should've: i found a thread about their being no date change.
I could blame Laminate for this, and . . . i think i will. =) Nah, shit happens -- but i might tell Derren about that shit, next time i see him around. It pissed me off 'cause Kerbdog's December 2005 gigs were to be their last, and this show is the only one they've played since, and may well be the very last; and i'm leaving Ireland soon, and they're less likely to play in England, if they play again at all. . . .
